About HospiceCompare
Choosing a hospice usually happens in a hard week. HospiceCompare puts the public Medicare data about each hospice in one calm place: what families said in Medicare’s survey, how many people each hospice cares for, who owns it, and how to reach it.
The site is free. We do not rank hospices, we do not take payment from hospices to appear or to appear higher, and every hospice in the CMS file is listed the same way.
Not affiliated with Medicare
HospiceCompare is an independent website. It is not affiliated with Medicare or the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and it is not a government site. Medicare’s own tool is Care Compare on Medicare.gov.
Not medical advice
Everything here is general information. Talk with the doctor and the hospice about what is right for your family.
Who we are
HospiceCompare is part of a small network of free sites for families facing a death, alongside FuneralUS, ProbateUS and DeathUS. The network is paid for by advertising, including for EverSettled, a service that helps families settle an estate. Ads are labelled “Sponsored”.
Report a correction
The numbers come from CMS and we show them as CMS publishes them. If an address, phone number or website is wrong, or a hospice has closed, email info@funeralus.com with the page address and what should change. Hospices can also update their details with CMS, which fixes them here at the next data refresh.
How we build the pages, and where each number comes from, is on Data and methods.
